Working as an Editor in our Scientific, Technical, Medical and Scholarly business, you will be independently responsible for the financial and editorial development and the editorial management of approximately 15 titles in the life sciences, working within a subject team of editorial, marketing, and production colleagues, in both local and global Wiley-Blackwell offices. You will research and implement ideas for developing content, revenue, and profitability of titles managed; propose and agree Financial Forecasts
and other key financial decisions; monitor contract terms for our own titles; and maintain a broad overview of competitor activity and Market Developments
. Requirements Minimum 3 years’ editorial experience in STMS publishing, preferably journals Knowledge of academic journals publishing and specific requirements of life science communities Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills Strong negotiating skills, time management techniques, and presentation skills High level of diplomacy and demonstrated Effective Negotiation
and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills , highly motivated and achievement-oriented Must be able and willing to travel to journal editorial board meetings and conferences Ability to assess impact of income or expenditure decisions and draft journal budgets Understanding of financial models Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook College degree required, Biological Sciences
